中華隊里約奧運奪金熱門、舉重選手林子琦，在巴西時間9日因藥檢結果出現異常，被處以暫時性停賽。現在也傳出，另外還有一名男子舉重隊成員也出現同樣的狀況，只是覆檢報告還未出爐。對此，台灣奧運代表團總領隊陳士魁說，「截至目前為止，僅獲得通知林子琦反應異常，但接下來還有沒有，我們只能勇敢面對。」
據傳，一名高層的體育署官員透露，7月17日的檢測，除了發現林子琦的數據異常外，還有另外一名男子舉重隊成員，同樣也是今年奧運具有奪牌希望的選手，出現同樣生物護照數據異常的狀況，不過覆檢報告尚未出爐。對此，人在里約的體育署長何卓飛也說，還有選手在等藥檢報告，希望所有選手都符合規定。
